Lyrics
[Verse 1] Sailin' heart ships through broken harbors Out on the waves in the night Still, the searcher must ride the dark horse Racing alone in his fright [Chorus] Tell me why Tell me why Is it hard to make arrangements with yourself When you're old enough to repay, but young enough to sell? [Verse 2] Tell me lies later, come and see me I'll be around for a while I am lonely but you can free me All in the way that you smile [Chorus] Tell me why Tell me why Is it hard to make arrangements with yourself When you're old enough to repay, but young enough to sell? [Interlude] This is a song I wrote about my ranch I moved up, um, north, and, um I live out in the country And, uh When I bough the place, there was this old man who was working there for the people I bought it from He was about seventy years old He'd been, you know, like, a cattle man, you know Sort of like, he's somethin' that's not ever gonna happen again 'Cause the cattle business and all that just isn't like it was Forty years ago or whatever He's like something that's still alive, that— that's dead So I wrote a song about it
